His Story

From Mexico City to Fort Lauderdale

Dr. Jorge Arturo Flores was born and raised in Mexico City. He earned his medical degree at the Faculty of Medicine of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he also taught as an Instructor of Histology.

His training then took him across North America: an internship at Moncton City Hospital in New Brunswick, Canada; a residency in Internal Medicine at Touro Infirmary, Tulane University, in New Orleans; and a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Flores has lectured internationally on cardio-oncology and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, sharing his expertise with physicians in:

  • Ecuador (Quito, Guayaquil)
  • Honduras (Tegucigalpa)
  • Guatemala
  • Cayman Islands
  • Tortola

After nearly two decades of practice, he founded Flores Cardiology in 2023 to give patients personal, one-on-one heart care. To stay current, he keeps up with the latest research in leading cardiology journals such as JACC and Circulation.

Outside the office, Dr. Flores is a married father of three and a proud grandfather of two grandsons. He is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Italian, and enjoys history, the arts, opera, tennis, and soccer.
